  1. Erica,
I really enjoyed your piecing together of the puzzle to create an open view of what our society puts so much emphasis on…RICHES. At the end of the day many American’s laid their head on their pillow with debt continuing to creep in their everyday lives. My favorite lines were the first two. It gave me a glimpse into your thoughts as you continued to focus on the struggle. The combination of wealth and people having a “price” is lived out daily in our culture without a thought…until the day they acquire, achieve or see the money. I’m sure we have “guilty pleasures”…but at what cost?

  2. Erica,
I really liked the way you broke up your lines, and where you decided to end the headlines. I also think this was good theme to choose in relation to the novel we are reading. It is interesting to see what the headlines in Dos Passos' era were, and the headlines and songs of today. Even though it is almost 100 years later, the problems in society are still the same.

  3. Erica I really like your usage of wealth to describe the elements of pride. I do think that the top wealthiest people in the world are faar too wealthy compared to the average of everyone else. You do a good job of showing what does "pride" mean to someone who inherited their wealth? What does someone on the other side view the pride of these wealthy people as? Its sad and shocking to see the Dos Passo's headlines still ring true and can be compared so easily to today's headlines, even a hundred years later.
